Elyse Jacks

Elyse was previously the office manager at Equal Justice Under Law. When she wasn't  helping to install phone lines or driving an 18-foot truck full of office furniture, you could find her organizing our electronic files, preparing for incoming interns and responding to requests for legal assistance. It takes a tenacious attitude tackling all the in's and out's of a legal non-profit and we couldn't have done it without her. In addition to working at Equal Justice Under Law, Elyse was also the house manager for the Folger Shakespeare Theater and an environmental consultant for a small strategy firm. She loves to travel and has lived in Belgium, France and Scotland.  In the fall of 2018, she will be returning to Scotland to study Sustainability at the University of Dundee.

If you could go on a road trip with any person (alive or deceased), who would you choose and where would you go?

Elyse - I would want to go on a road trip with my great grandmother. She grew up in a mining town in the Upper Peninsula, MI and lived through two world wars, the Great Depression and experienced the turn of the century. I would love be able to ask her about her life and the struggles she faced, as we drive through the state of Michigan.
