Caroline McCance

Caroline graduated magna cum laude from the University of Richmond School of Law. During law school, Caroline interned with the Boston-based organization Lawyers for Civil Rights, The Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights, the ACLU of Virginia, and the Hon John A Gibney, Jr. in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. Caroline served as the President and a founding member of Richmond Law’s chapter of If/When/How: Lawyering for Reproductive Justice, and volunteered with the Virginia Equality Bar Association at their name and gender marker change clinics. Caroline was awarded the TYLA Regional Trial Competition Outstanding Advocate Award, the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association Student Trial Advocate Award, and was admitted to the Order of the Barristers.

Since graduating law school, Caroline has worked as a staff attorney for AIDS Action Committee in Boston, MA. During her time with AAC, Caroline represented low-income individuals living with HIV/AIDS in civil legal services matters involving housing, public benefits, discrimination, medical privacy, and domestic violence.

When she is not at work, Caroline loves cooking for friends, crafting, yoga, exploring the outdoors, and the Boston Red Sox.
